Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free learning series “Little KidsBig World” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history.  Saturday topics at 10:15 a.m. are repeated Mondays at 10 a.m.  Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.

Aug. 1, 10:15 a.m. and Aug. 3, 10 a.m. Fishing. What a catch! Learn what kind of fish are in North Dakota. Try your luck at casting with a fishing pole and create a paper fish to take home.

Aug. 8, 10:15 a.m. and Aug. 10, a.m. Bison. I am not a buffalo! Discover what makes bison different than buffalo. We’ll visit our bison in the gallery and complete a coloring sheet.

Aug.15,10:15 a.m. and Aug. 17,10 a.m. Animal Tracks. What animals can you see while exploring North Dakota? Study what tracks different animals make and print tracks of your own.

Aug. 22, 10:15 a.m. and Aug. 24, 10 a.m. Ladybugs. Ladybugs are North Dakota’s state insect. Find out how it was chosen and put together a 3D paper ladybug.

Aug. 29, 10:15 a.m. and Aug. 31, 10 a.m. Apples. What kind of apples grow in North Dakota? Stamp a picture with apple slices.
