Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free learning series “Little Kids, Big World” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. Saturday topics at 10:15 a.m. are repeated Mondays at 10 a.m. Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.
Sept. 5, 10:15 a.m. and Sept. 7, 10 a.m. Labor Day. Explore the history of Labor Day, a time to honor the hard-working people of America. Make a patriotic paper lantern.
Sept. 12, 10:15 a.m. and Sept. 14, 10 a.m. National Make a Hat Day. What’s on your head? Learn about the history of hats and create one out of paper.
Sept. 19, 10:15 a.m. and Sept. 21, 10 a.m. Harvest Time. Discover the workings of a farm during harvest season and play in our sensory bins.
Sept. 26, 10:15 a.m. and Sept. 28, 10 a.m. Mastodons vs. Woolly Mammoths. Compare mastodons and woolly mammoths, then decorate a paper bag woolly mammoth puppet to take home.
