Everyone is invited to explore the “Haunted Museum,” a new “legendscary” experience transforming a museum gallery into a spooky, story-filled adventure at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum, Capitol grounds in Bismarck. Wednesday, October 21 through Sunday November 1 enjoy this free, family-friendly event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends. Navigate eerie scenes inspired by regional folklore and encounter witches, dwarves, trolls, fairies, and other mysterious figures. Evening hours Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. offer an enhanced experience featuring a labyrinth with costumed characters. North Dakota-themed spooky stories are read in the Great Plains Theater at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. on weekdays. Additional evening story sessions will be held at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Russell Reid Auditorium.
